{October 20, 2010}   “Social Network”

Monday i went and saw the movie “Social Network” for my Special Topics class. I was half expecting a movie full of teenie bopper drama when i first heard about the movie before it came out. But fter it came out and people started seeing it, i started hearing the exact opposite. I’m alwats a skeptic for movies these days; i rarely go to the movies to see a movie (mainly because it’s a HUGE rip off, i paid $9.50 monday night!). Unless i am dead sold on the movie being good, funny, scarey, whatever i will more then likely not pay my own money to see it. ther then the fact i had to go see it for class, i found myself looking forward to it based on the reviews on the movie from my peers.

The movie did not disappoint me at all. I enjoyed the film. I think it was very intriguing seeing how it was based on the folks who created facebook and made it to be the HUGE and probably the most epic success of the decade. In my opinion, i feel them two jocks and the dude with the uni-brow deserved what they got; they were naive, they told him all their thoughts, ideas, plans, etc with no intention of a contract when they are BUSINESS MAJORS. I cannot believe how much they got in the settlement, but i give Ruckerberg props for paying them to basically quit bitching and let him continue on becoming richer and richer and more and more successful everyday. So in the long run if you ask me the jocks fought a battle for an amount of money that is now worth a penny to Ruckerberg. Congrats dudes on being stupid, have fun kicking yourself in the ass for the rest of your lifetimes.

{October 11, 2010}   Time to dust off the Blog…

For my Special Topics in Graphic Design class, we’re being assigned to start blogging and continue blogging if we do already. Time to start getting used to using this thing again. Made some updates to my profile, logged into my twitter for the first time since May. Loading the iPhone up with apps and setting them all up. It’s a lot of work! Whew!

Wow it’s been a while since I last posted. I need to get more into the groove of blogging.

Anyway, impatience is in my system more than ever it seems. Christmas and New Years couldn’t take any longer to get here it seems. But then again it was just yesterday that I was turning 20 it seems. I’m looking forward to the 26th of December; I finally get to see my Kats! Well no, I lied, i’m more than likely seeing them on Christmas Eve. Lezlie is throwing them a welcome home party :3 How sweet of her. Then New Years would be nice to get here quick, even though I don’t have any big plans yet for it; it’s more the events following New Years that i’m looking forward to. Specially the 29th on Jan. Another road trip to Cleveland! I’ll be going with Doug, O’dell and i’m not sure who else (i’m sure Kat is going too). This time we’re going to see our good friends, The Creepshow! Since their next show in Detroit wont be until late February early March; we’ve decided to go down there and see them. I miss them Canadians….

But until then it’s just classes, and work. AIGA portfolio review day is coming up in February,  so the design process for that event is underway. Then also keeping track of the Interfaces design team and making sure everything is going accordingly with that. Then just my 3 classes of Flash, Web 2, and English Comp 2. We’ll see how well this year will wrap up :)

I am very happy and EXCITED to announce that the new Koffin Kats CD “Forever for Hire”, releases THIS SATURDAY! It’s being released by Stomp records which is apart of the Union Label Group in Montreal, Quebec Canada.  I have never been so excited about a CD release, EVER! It was designed by me, photography was done by Diana Price. I have been having DREAMS about this cd. I dreamt of getting it in the mail from the guys and opening it….and it being REAL! A real piece of design that I did an actual physical object for others to buy! I have already talked to a couple of peeps in London and they say they’re going to order a copy! So this is HUGE for me!!! I hope it helps get my name out there and it will bring some more freelance my way.

If you’re interested in purchasing the cd or songs in any way, go to The Ultimate Punk Music Store. Pics of the cd will follow once I receive it in the mail from the guys. Otherwise buy one and look at it yourself!!

{October 14, 2009}   Concert Season isn’t over yet!

So far this passed week I have been to 2 concerts. First was saturday october 10th @ SMalls bar in Hamtramck, The Creepshow, Goddamn Gallows, and The Brains. It ROCKED! Other then this creepy dude hitting on me as if i were a child and he was a pedifile with candy. I had a blast! Got to conversate with the band members of the Creepshow more and got to know them. Then Monday October 12th went to another Creepshow performance this time in Lansing MI at Mac’s Bar. This show was just as fun as saturdays. Specially since I got invited to hang out witht he band! Got to know the band member by the name of Ginty really well. Super awesome a great guy just for you all to know!

ANYWAY. I’m also attending the 3 Bad Jacks at Smalls bar THIS THURSDAY NIGHT! $8 Cover! I believe its all ages but im not positive. It’d going to rock seeing these guys!

I will get around to posting some pics up her from the Creepshow performance the other night, so keep an eye out!

{October 7, 2009}   Why I made this Blog…

So this is my first “real” blog outside of myspace (which for future reference I have grown to hate). I don’t really know what exactly I am or will or want to blog about, but I do know that a blog is pointless almost if no one reads it. So i’m hoping I’ll gain some readers. If i don’t then I’ll have to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I got inspired to start thing blog by my current English teacher. She has one and i read it frequently because it is quite humorous but factual and logical at the same time. I’m hoping to have some of that whole sharing experiences I have and or have had while being a student. I’ll post about graphic design stuff that’s for sure. And I know I will also post some of my work for opinion and critique. Or just to show off haha. But my goal with this blog is to communicate better on the web and gain some feedback from readers out there. So feel free to leave logical critiques, but seriously no childish games. This is a serious goal i want to achieve and childish comments will only cause issues so act your age and be respectful. That’s all I’m really asking is for honest opinions not insults or crude comments.

Hopefully this will turn out to be fun and not just something I’m wasting my time on. I’m hoping to post 2-3 times a week or whenever I feel the urge.

Happy Blogging!
